ContourTrace – Image to DXF Converter

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In order to faci­li­ta­te image data for fur­ther use in sur­vey­ing, inspec­tion, con­struc­tion and manu­fac­tu­ring, soft­ware is being deve­lo­ped that extracts con­tours from image mate­ri­al and allows them to be expor­ted to DXF for­mat. The focus of the pro­ject is on the fast, easy and accu­ra­te extrac­tion of con­tours from image­ry of dif­fe­rent devices. For this pur­po­se, fil­ters and algo­rith­ms have been pre­set which can be fine-tun­ed for dif­fe­rent app­li­ca­ti­ons. Fur­ther­mo­re, the cali­bra­ti­on of dif­fe­rent came­ras and record­ing devices is pos­si­ble. Dis­tor­ti­ons cau­sed by len­ses are thus remo­ved from the image mate­ri­al. The sto­rage of a ratio (e.g. mm/pixel) enab­les the true-to-sca­le export into the DXF for­mat. The soft­ware enab­les enor­mous time savings when genera­ting DXF data from ordi­na­ry image mate­ri­al. More infor­ma­ti­on about Con­tour­Trace can be found here: Con­tour­Trace 2019.
